The Paavai Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) in association with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Agricultural Engineering of Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous) organized a Workshop on “Innovations Showcase: Exhibition / Prototypes & Ideation” on 21 February 2026 at M.S. Swaminathan Vayal Kudam from 10.00 a.m. to 04.00 p.m.
The event was conducted under the patronage of Dr. M. Premkumar, Principal. The workshop was convened by Dr. D. Banumathy, Head – CSE, and Dr. B. Kailash Kumar, Head – Agricultural Engineering. The primary objective of the workshop was to promote innovation, prototype development, and entrepreneurial skills among students.
A total of 15 projects were exhibited during the workshop, including 9 projects from Agricultural Engineering and 6 projects from Computer Science and Engineering. The projects focused on innovative concepts such as smart irrigation systems, AI-based crop monitoring, IoT-enabled automation, mobile application development, and sustainable agricultural technologies. Students actively demonstrated their working models and explained the technical and practical aspects of their innovations.
The projects were evaluated by the esteemed jury members, Dr. K. Sharmila Devi, HOD – Civil Engineering, and Dr. M. Rameshkumar, HOD – CSE & IoT. The jury and faculty members appreciated the originality, teamwork, and real-time applicability of the projects. They provided constructive suggestions such as enhancing prototype durability, improving user interface design, integrating real-time data analysis, reducing production cost, conducting field testing, and exploring patent filing and startup incubation opportunities.
The event was efficiently coordinated by Mr. E. Elanchezhiyan (AP, CSE) and Dr. A. Vivekanandhini (ASP, Agricultural Engineering). The workshop concluded successfully with a vote of thanks, and it served as a valuable platform for students to showcase their innovative ideas and entrepreneurial potential.
