A webinar titled “AI & Innovation Sprints: Rapid Prototyping for Digital Transformation” was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous), on 21.02.2026. Ms. Jannathul Roshni, a third-year student, welcomed the gathering, and Ms. R. Priyadharshin, also a third-year student, delivered the Chief Guest introduction.
Dr. K. Sharmiladevi, Head of the Department, introduced the speaker and provided an overview of AI technology and its applications in Civil Engineering. Mr. Aravinth Kumarasivam, Technical Specialist at HCL Tech, Bengaluru, served as the resource speaker, accompanied by his team members Mr. P. Teja Phani Kumar and Mr. Praharsha Chinthapalli. The speaker highlighted the AI-driven solutions to improve efficiency, automate workflows, and develop intelligent systems in an organization. He discussed the role of AI in various industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, finance, and smart cities. He also explained AI technologies, including Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Natural Language Processing, and Computer Vision, are transforming traditional business processes into intelligent and automated systems. Mr. P. Teja Phani Kumar, a Senior Software Engineer, presented real-time case studies showing how organizations use AI to improve operational efficiency and make data-driven decisions.
Dr. K. Sharmiladevi, HoD/Civil, Mr. A. Jayapal, AP/Civil, and Mr. M. Rajkannan, AP/Civil, served as faculty coordinators. Along with other faculty members, around 75 participants attended the webinar.
Finally, the vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. E. Dhanya, a second-year student, and the one-day webinar concluded successfully. The session was highly informative and insightful.
