A two-day workshop on “UI/UX Design with Figma” was organized by the Department of Information Technology, Paavai Engineering College, Namakkal, on 10th and 11th February 2026, from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
The objective of the workshop was to introduce students to the fundamentals of UI/UX design and provide them with hands-on experience using Figma.
The programme commenced with a prayer song rendered by the students, creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere. The welcome address was delivered by Ms. Janani A., II Year IT, who warmly greeted the dignitaries, resource person, and participants.
The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. K. Selvi, Dean of Academics, who emphasized the growing importance of UI/UX design skills in today’s digital era. She encouraged students to actively participate in the sessions and enhance their creativity and problem-solving abilities.
The workshop sessions were conducted by Mr. V. Surendar, UI/UX Designer at Green CAD Tech. He explained the fundamental concepts of User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design, including design principles, wireframing, prototyping, and practical implementation using Figma. The sessions were highly interactive, featuring live demonstrations and hands-on activities that enabled students to apply their learning in real time.
Participants gained valuable exposure to modern design tools and industry practices. The workshop significantly enhanced their technical knowledge, creativity, and confidence in designing user-friendly digital interfaces.
The programme concluded with the distribution of certificates to the participants. Students provided positive feedback, stating that the workshop helped them acquire new skills and a better understanding of UI/UX design concepts.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Sivasankari P., II Year IT, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the management, faculty members, the resource person, and all participants for contributing to the success of the workshop.
