The Department of Chemical Engineering (CE), Paavai Engineering College organized an online webinar on “Process Engineering” through the Microsoft Teams platform on February 08, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM.

The session commenced with a welcome address by Mr. R.Balasubramani, Associate Professor. Following this, Selvi. G.Devadharshini, a third-year CE student, introduced the Chief Guest, Mr. Govindaraj M R, Assistant Manager in Process Engineering – L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering Limited,Vadodara, Gujarat.

Mr. Govindaraj M R began his talk with the quote, “Professionalism in Engineering”. He emphasized the significance of studying basics of process calculations, unit conversions and fluid flow systems. He explained the unique aspect of process engineering that involves handling, processing, and transporting fluids. He concluded by highlighting that Process engineers are responsible for the design, implementation, control, and optimisation of industrial processes.

The one-day online webinar was organized by Mr. R. Balasubramani, Associate Professor and Head of the Department, and coordinated by Dr. K. Gopi, Associate professor, Mr. S. Pandiarajan, Assistant Professor.  Students from the second, third, and final years of Chemical Engineering actively participated in the session. 105 students attended and benefitted by this webinar.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Selvan.M.Sivabalan of third-year.
