
Paavai College of Nursing and Research organized a one-day State-Level Workshop on “A Hands-on Approach to Mastering Competency in Obstetric and Pediatric Emergencies” on 10th August 2026 at Nightingale Hall.
The inaugural session was presided over by Shri. CA. N. V. Natarajan, Chairman of Paavai Educational Institutions. The Chief Guest, Dr. P. Sivamurukan, MBBS, MD (Pediatrics), DM (Pediatric Critical Care), Department of Paediatrics, JIPMER, Puducherry, graced the occasion. Along with the other dignitaries on the dais, he participated in the traditional kuthuvilakku lighting ceremony. Ms. Vismi Vinod, a student, delivered the welcome address.
In his Chief Guest address, Dr. P. Sivamurukan highlighted the significance of the workshop and emphasized the importance of timely and effective management of pediatric emergencies. He stressed the vital role of nurses in providing prompt, safe, and compassionate care to infants and children, particularly during emergency situations. He encouraged the participants to strengthen their practical skills and clinical competencies to ensure quality care and better outcomes for pediatric patients.
The workshop prelude was delivered by Dr. Hepsi Rachel Chellarani, Principal, Paavai College of Nursing, Namakkal. The event was also attended by the Para Medical Principals, Paavai Institutions, along with other faculty members and participants.

The workshop witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 380 delegates from various institutions across Tamil Nadu. The participants received certificates and mementos, presented by Dr. Hepsi Rachel Chellarani, Principal, Paavai College of Nursing, Namakkal.
The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Ms. Sandra prakash, and the workshop concluded with the National Anthem.
