The Department of Cyber Security & MCA organized a Hands-on Workshop on “Cyber Security, Web Development, and Data Analytics with Power BI” on 11th October 2025.
The event was presided over by Dr. P. Muthusamy, Head of the Department of Cyber Security & MCA, and coordinated by Mr. R. Loganathan, Professor and Faculty Coordinator, along with student coordinators Samuel R., Rohith P., and Parthasarathy S., IV year Cyber Security students.
The workshop commenced with a welcome address delivered by A. Ajmal Thahseen, IV year Cyber Security student, followed by the presidential address by Dr. P. Prem Kumar, Principal of Paavai Engineering College. Dr. P. Muthusamy, Head of the Department, then delivered a prelude to the event, outlining its objectives and significance.
The workshop featured a series of four specialized technical sessions:
- Design Craft: Focused on the principles and practices of UI/UX design, guiding participants in creating intuitive and engaging digital products. This session was conducted by Pooja A. M., Hansika K., and Harini K., from the Department of Cyber Security.
- Linux Command Lab: Introduced the fundamentals of Linux and system administration, equipping attendees with essential command-line skills for managing Linux environments. The session was handled by Kanishkar K., Elavarasi S., Bhavanidharan S., and Karthik M., from the Department of Cyber Security.
- Pentest Pro: Provided hands-on experience in penetration testing techniques, helping participants identify and ethically address system vulnerabilities. This practical session was conducted in Cyber Security Lab 1 by Gokul K. and Ponnarasu M., from the Department of Cyber Security.
- Insights Pro: Focused on data analytics using Power BI, enabling participants to visualize and analyze data effectively to support decision-making. This session was handled by Deepak P., from the Department of MCA.
After the completion of the sessions, participants were guided for lunch. Post-lunch, all attendees reassembled in Kalam’s Chamber to continue the workshop activities. To maintain engagement, a Connections Game was conducted, encouraging students to collaborate and participate actively in an interactive environment.
The event concluded with a feedback session, where participants shared their learning experiences, followed by the distribution of certificates to all participants. A total of 168 external students took part in the workshop.
