The Department of Management Studies, Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous), organized a guest lecture on 09.12.2025 titled “People–First Leadership: The Power of Servant Leadership in Today’s Workplace” at Cute Hall, Paavai Engineering College, Namakkal.
The event commenced with a prayer song by the first-year students, followed by the Master of Ceremony session, during which Mr. Bharat Gupta, a first-year MBA student, welcomed the gathering. The presidential address was delivered by Dr. M. Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College, in which he highlighted the qualities required for today’s youth to become effective leaders in the future.
Dr. N. Swarnalatha, Professor and Head, Department of MBA, Paavai Engineering College, felicitated the gathering with a motivational address emphasizing the essential skills required for MBA students to lead people effectively. The guest introduction was delivered by Mrs. S. Kathambari, a first-year MBA student, who introduced the resource person, Dr. Arul Ramanatha Pillai, Research Advisor and Assistant Professor, PG Department of Commerce (Computer Applications), St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli.
The guest speaker elaborated on the principles of people-first leadership and servant leadership, highlighting how prioritizing empathy, trust, and service can enhance employee engagement and organizational success. The students were highly enthusiastic and motivated by his insightful session. The programme concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which the speaker clarified students’ doubts.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Ms. R. Govardhini, a first-year MBA student, who expressed gratitude to the guest speaker, faculty members, and participants.
