The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at Paavai Engineering College, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council, organized an alumni guest lecture titled “Empowering Techniques for Intelligent Networking and Communication” on 11.02.2026 at Kalam’s Chamber from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The event aimed to provide students with insights into the rapidly evolving landscape of next-generation communication systems.
The event began with a Prayer Song by the students, followed by the presentation of the Vision,Mission,PEO of the department by Ms.Arunthathi Ramaiyan of III-year ECE. The Welcome Address was delivered by Ms.Jesika K of II-year ECE. Dr. K.K. Ramasamy, Director – Administration, Paavai Educational Institutions, delivered the Presidential Address, wherein he appreciated the initiative taken by the department and encouraged students to actively engage in such knowledge-enriching sessions. The Alumni Guest Introduction was given by BG.Madhavan of II year ECE, who expressed admiration for the speaker’s achievements and career journey.
The keynote address by Dr. D. Arulanantham focused on the transition from current standards to future-ready technologies. Key technical areas included: Green ICT & Sustainability: A critical discussion on reducing carbon footprints through energy-efficient networking and responsible e-waste management. Intelligence in Networking: The speaker illustrated how AI and Machine Learning are used to create “self-healing” networks and autonomous communication systems. Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS): A deep dive into security frameworks, emphasizing both Information Security and Control Security for networked embedded systems. The lecture concluded with a strategic guide for students regarding career paths. Dr. D. Arulanantham highlighted: Public Sector Opportunities: Guidance on PSUs, IES, and GATE-based Scientist-B roles. Intelligence Agencies: Information on technical roles within the National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO) and the National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Centre (NCIIPC).
The event was highly interactive, allowing students to understand the practical applications of their curriculum. The session ended with a vote of thanks by Swathi R III year ECE), acknowledging the resource person’s contribution to enhancing the students’ technical perspective on intelligent communication.
The event was convened by Dr.R.Mohanapriya, Associate Professor and Head, ECE, and coordinated by Dr.S.Vijayakumar, Professor, ECE and Mr.S.Loganathan, Department Alumni Coordinator along with Mr.S.Sathish, AAC Coordinator. 10 faculty members and 230 students from the department actively participated in the session.
