The Department of EEE, Energy Club, Paavai Engineering College has conducted a one day alumni guest lecture on “SPECIALIZATION IN INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING AND PERSPECTIVE CAREER” on 18.10.2024 through online mode. Dr.G.Balaji, Head of the Department EEE, presided over the function and insisted the importance of practical knowledge required to work with the industry
The guest speaker was Mr.Pandi Nithyanandam, Deputy Manager, Maintenance department, Jindal Steel and Power Limited, Oman. In his presentation, he deliberated the constraints of engineers entering in industry. In his lecture, he explained the role of general engineers and industrial engineers, as well as the operation research, supply chain management, quality engineering, human ergonomics. He motivated the young electrical engineers with his expertise on automation of system engineering and offered them an idea of how to analyze the data. He enlightened the significance of networking, web development, cloud platform, PLC, AutoCAD etc., to enhance the ability of students to become an industrial engineer.
